CALIFORNIA SECTION 17200 CONFERENCE

April 7 & 8, 2005 - Los Angeles

John N. Quisenberry to speak on class action cases which include a 17200 action.

Seminar summary:
With Proposition 64 behind us the stakes are now higher than ever.  California's Business & Professions Code Sec. 17200 is designed to protect competitors and consumers from unfair business practices.  The law is still one of the most sweeping consumer protection laws in the nation.  In addition to consumer suits and suits brought by law enforcement agencies, the law covers competitor v. competitor suits raising issues of trade secrets, customer lists and the protection of intellectual property rights.  What will the effects of changes to the law mean?

There is enormous controversy surrounding Section 17200.  This program will concentrate on changes to the law following Proposition 64, including restitution, damages and retroactivity.
