Creative Pipe v. The Hartford
Creative Pipe, Inc. manufacturers and distributes outdoor furniture such as park benches and trash cans. Another company sued Creative Pipe, Inc. for copyright infringement, alleging that Creative Pipe had improperly advertised certain items on its website. The Hartford insurance company issued an insurance policy to Creative Pipe, which provided coverage for advertising injuries that arise out of copyright infringement. When Creative Pipe sought indemnification and defense against the lawsuit, The Hartford denied the claim.
Creative Pipe selected The Quisenberry Law Firm to sue their insurer for breach of contract, insurance bad-faith, and declaratory relief.
