Von Hurst v. The Griffin Group, et al.
The Von Hursts purchased their dream home at the end of a street in La Quinta, California. A developer began construction on a development called Griffin Ranch, which borders the Von Hursts backyard. During this construction, large amounts of dust and sand accumulated throughout their property and home due to the use of improper construction methods and the failure of the contractors to abide by municipal building codes. Dust settled in the pool and seeped through the windows and ventilation, covering the interior of the home. Additionally, the Von Hursts have suffered health related problems as a result of dust and sand being blown into their home.
